A Miracle in Sin City

A Miracle in Sin City
As you all may know, It never, never snows in Las Vegas. I am fine with that fact. No shoveling, no nut drivers, no sliping, no cold. I get to wear flip-flops 12 months out of the year. Just a few weeks ago I started to wear long jeans every day.
Today Breeona had no school because of parent-teacher confrences so I also took the day off. We had a great day. My mom came over and we made Christmas goodies all day. (see my eating with the Gunderson's blog)
I got a text from a friend who lives across the street and she said that it was snowing at her house. No snow at my house. It was raining.
Then it started Slushing. Which is like rain but thicker.
Then it started snowing, but it was really wet and not sticking very well.

It then started snowing, really snowing!!
This is what palm trees look like with snow on them:
I used to make fun of cities like Seattle, now I live in one. People are nuts, they are still driving fast. Our parent-teacher confrence got cancled. Kevin saw online that it might snow all night. If that happens school will be cancled. Kevin said the last snow like this he saw was 10 years or more ago.

So cool! I would love ONE snow day a year! But Las Vegas residents sure are wimpy, huh??? :) No t.v. programs, no flights, no school!

Wow! That's amazing! I can't believe it really.... You have more snow than we have ever had here this year and right now it is like -40 degrees here with the wind chill... I'm seriously thinking we need to move closer to the sin city... ha ha ha :)

It WAS a miracle! And isn't it great that it came for a few days and then left?! I am loving the winter here :)

I FINALLY changed your URL on my blog to your new one. I DID make fun of Vegas that week- people were driving like there were 4 ft of snow on the ground and streets covered with ice. School was cancelled and we didn't have ANY snow that day up our side of town or much of the county (our snow came two days before yours). It was crazy, though, to get 3 snows (we had some up here the following week) in such a short amount of time.

Happy New Year!
