Live Nativity

I was so excited to learn about a Live Nativity this year! We always used to go to one and then I heard it was canceled- oh I was so sad. It was one of my favorite traditions in December. The LDS Red Rock stake has taken their annual  nativity and moved it to Opportunity Village! I feel pretty lucky because I just happened across a flier about it and it was that week. They only do it for four days so we almost missed it. We decided to go on Friday night and we knew that we needed to get there early and it was all the way across town so off we went with plenty of time, we thought. We got their about 10 min before the first performance was about to start and one of the helpers told us it was all filled! Well lucky us we went to the early one so now we had 2 hours to kill before the next performance. That is when we noticed they also had a huge nativity display. I love those! We went in and looked around for awhile. Then lucky us we went and got some hot chocolate. I got a apple cider-oh it was so so good. It was like liquid apple pie. All these pictures were taken with my phone.

We went back to the Live Nativity and we were 30 min early now and the parking lot was pretty empty so we wandered in and WOW the stands were already very full! We got a great seat in the second row near the side- We always need an exit plan because we never know when Jax might melt. He was so great that night! He just sat and watched. He put his little head on my shoulder and sat on his dad's lap the whole time. We got to pet the animals before hand and also we got to see the cute little baby they used after the performance. My favorite part is when Mary comes in on the donkey- I cry every year. It just reminds me each time what an amazing women she was. I also love when the angels come sing and tell the shepards to find the the Christ child.
Here are my two sweets after the show standing by one of the inns.

Love the pics. So glad you were able to enjoy the whole evening. Made me cry thinking about all our memories of special Christmas performances, musicals, nativity displays and the special live nativity. Miss you all
